Im not really sure what your questions are but I will assume you want to know if the new video card and more ram will help with your frames per second and if running a dedicated cable to your computer will improve the connection over a wireless connection.
So, to answer the first quesiton: More memory, no matter how much you have is always good for planetside. Depending on how much you have already in your system, 256MB could potentially make a huge difference. To answer your second question: Depending on what kind of technology your wireless router uses, a dedicated line may or may not improve your internet connection. But in my experience, dedicated lines (ie running a cable from the router to the computer) will usually give you a cleaner signal with less loss and interference. |

hey, welcome, i dunno what im goin on about though seeing that i dont have the game yet...
256 ram??? how much you got at the moment??? if you dont want any lag then get around 750 ram,im getting 1 gig, for my PC. also, do wireless routers have a big effect on lag, its just i want a outer to hav the PS2 and PC and, soon hopefully, xbox, all online at the same time... and don't worry about the spelling, its not that bad, i know someone who used to ask me how to spell swearwords. |

The lowest card you should get for your computer is a GeForce 5700, anything below really is a waste of money. If you're willing to spend money on upgrading, then do it right. And don't get pulled in by the 256MB cards, they're not much better than the 128, and they're a LOT more expensive. I'd recommend the ATI Radeon Pro, 9700 I believe is the number...anyways, good luck.

hey cryptica listend to me the other night after all. good advice. For a mid range canr you want a 5700 ultra or a 9600pro(or XT) but you can get 9800pros for quite chep now and those are much better.
You wirless connectin is fine, it can only go as fast as your Internet connection anyway. And that won't be more than 3mbps, i have 3mbps cable slpit between 3 comps and i never have connection lag unless its server side.

Sorry well it works on my computer downstairs but when i try to plug it in it wont work for windows recorder or any software that uses it. i have tryed both slots for it ( my computer has to slots for mic's i have no idea why, it also has 8 usb ports) and nether will reconise its there. is it because i only have a build in video card right now, i did not think video cards had anything to do with sound.?

no man, your video card has nothing to do with your sound, your sound card does though. make sure you have the latest drivers (that goes for everything in your computer) also i'm pretty sure your computer will never recognize that you have a microphone plugged in
well i was going to be the first person to welcome you back but Hamma just had to update the message boards but then i picked up my guitar and totaly forgot, ahwell any way yeah...definatly consider a 9800pro and i'd go for a gig of ram instead of 512MB I'm curious, what sort of processor do you have?
