Question Rexo buff?


for some reason i have it in my head that the Rexo suit used to have 150 armour and now it has 200, am i imagining things or did the Rexo get buffed?

it got buffed. the armor actually takes twice as much damage too.

This happened awhile back, you can look at the patch notes to see exactly when, it came in right around when the balance pass was instated.

Rexo has 200 armor and 2 more points of damage absorb, that was the change.

Sweeper better than the Jackhammer ? The Jackhammer has a 30% greater rate-of-fire, does more damage, and has double the clip size. It is well worth the extra four certs over Sweeper, and on a pure condition of their merits in combat, there is no way you could find the Sweeper to be better.

i like it better because it does more dammage per pellet (plus i dont find the jh worth 4 cert points)...ive taken out many a tr/vs jh user with it...the jh has a better RoF yes and it can do insta gib mode but i personally could never kill anything with the jh in the 2 days i had ha

dont worry, why would there be a balance disussion between ha and ma?

I've said it before, the only real difference between the Jack and the Sweeper is double the clip and that triple shot ppl complain so much about.

Oh and the Sweeper has more range...and faster reload.

The beauty of PS is that each weapon has it's use.

Sobekus, the Jackhammer also deals greater damage-per-shot. It's a much better weapon than the Sweeper. If you're trying to use a shotgun at medium range, you're fucked anyway. That's what the second rifle slot is for...

You are right, but on average the dmg is about the same. Same dmg per pellet, but the Jack has more pellets and a looser spread.

So, just like you said, the damage averages out, even at greater ranges. At extreme shotgun range (35m+), I don't doubt that the Sweeper will deal an extra 3 damage per shot. But that's really nothing compared to having double the clip and a 30% greater RoF.

just curious, but does the sweeper work like the 12 gauge in counter-strike?


i love that thing. strafe back a forth between cover when your cocking it, and let off a shot every time you step out of cover.

i hope thats how it works in planetside. i know the jh doesnt work that way.



oh, the jackhammer does 13 damage per pellet, the sweeper does 12.

WRONG! They both do the exact same ammount of damage per pellet. They have the same NUMBER of pellets. There are but five differences, and they have NOTHING to do with the pointblank, single shot of either weapon:

SWEEPER: reloads faster, tighter cone of fire (while crouching)
JACKHAMMER: fires faster, larger clipsize, tripleshot.

damage per shot? same. If a JH user and a Sweeper user were standing 10m away from each other and fired at the same moment, the sweeper would only die first becaus the JH can fire FASTER. not harder.


Ok, weapon details down: I can still own yellow bellied rexos with my sweeper. 4 shots- one kill. four more- one more kill. reload. repeat. BOOM BABY!
