Hey all, I'm going to be getting a new HardDrive soon, but I'm not sure If I should get an external one with USB2.0 that's about 80 - 120GB, or an internal that's about 200GB. I was going to use www.aria.co.uk , but if anyone knows any (UK) sites that sell quality harddrives for less, I'd be grateful to hear about that too.
So which one to got for? External or Internal? Price limit 150.

That depends on what hard drive you have inside your computer already if you have the same h-drive as the 200GB then get that and RAID it. If thats not the same h-drive that you already have find one that is. If you cant find one get external if its cheaper.
After all theres no point in setting up a RAID if the hard drives move at different rpms. You could if you wanted to... Last edited by Disconnecting; 2004-08-19 at 05:26 PM. |

Omygosh thanks Frag.
As for the speed, is there any way to check the HDD speed via Windows gui? I bought my PC from Dell (don't blame me, blame the mother..) and they're not too great on the technical side of things when trying to look for this sort of info.
