This is just for fun. Basically, I will make a story, and I will leave the ending open, and it's your job to figure out who did it and how.
The story is fairly long... so... A couple of rules: 1. Chewy is exempt from being the killer, as he is the detective. 2. There is going to be a detail that links it to one person and does not allow it to be anyone else. 3. Assume that everyone (besides Chewy) has a motive to be the killer. Anyways, have fun. EDIT: This story, however, is taken from an episode of Detective Conan (Case Closed in the dub). I'm making this topic to see if these types of topics would be popular on PSU. I have a unique story waiting, but only if this topic is popular. PSU: MD was well underway, and the group was enjoying their trip to Vermont. No developers showed up this time, but that didn't stop everyone from enjoying themselves. The group decided to visit a ski lodge, and it was nearing the end of the day, so they were all chatting and having fun around the dinner table. The people in this particular lodge are Hamma, Jennyboo, Sputty, Chewy, Dharkbayne, and SDM. "Whoa, look at the time. 7:55 already. I don't want to miss my favorite show on right now," Hamma said. "That soap again? What intrigued you to suddenly become such a huge soap fan?" Jennyboo asked. Hamma shrugged, and left everyone else at the table. "Anyone want any snacks? I'll run out to the store really quickly," SDM offered. "In the middle of a blizzard? It'll take you at least 15 minutes each way," said Chewy. "Ah, so what. So what do you all want?" A list was quickly made, consisting of Potato Chips, Ice Cream, Celery, Cookies, and Peanuts. "Alright. I'll be back later..." Dharkbayne left soon after, saying that he wanted to hit the slopes, despite the blizzard. "Dhark, you're freakin crazy, you know that? Come on Chewy, we should clean this place up. Jennyboo, do you wanna help?" "Eh? No... I need to go take a bath." "Ooh, can I help?" Sputty quickly received a slap across the face, and Jennyboo left. At 8:10, Chewy and Sputty were cleaning the TV Room, and they both spotted Hamma, deeply engrossed with the soap. Chewy noticed that he was eating a full meal, complete with a glass of martini. 30 minutes later, at 8:40, Sputty and Chewy were done cleaning the house, and at 8:41 Dharkbayne returned from the slopes. "How were the slopes?" "Terrible... the blizzard didn't help much either." "So why'd you go out in the first place?" "The challenge?" The three of them were having an animated conversation around the dinner table, and at 8:43, Jennyboo came down from her bath. "That was quite a long bath" "What's it to you?" "Hey, where's Hamma?" "Oh, I wouldn't worry about him. He always records his soap's and watches them again. He doesn't like to be interrupted," Jennyboo said. At 8:46, SDM returned with the snacks. "Sorry guys, but the store was fresh out of Ice Cream and Celery." "Aw man, I love celery. Oh well..." After some animated talking, the group was starting to get worried. "It's 9:35 already, where's Hamma? He's had enough time to watch his soap twice already..." Chewy said. "I'll go check on him," SDM said. About 30 seconds later, a holler was heard from the TV Room. "Hamma... he's... he's... DEAD!" Everyone else came rushing into the room. Hamma's sitting on his knees, wide eyed and two stab wounds in his back. His hands were tied behind his back, and his mouth was gagged. He was also quite covered in blood from seeping out his back. Chewy instantly realized that this wasn't a natural position to die in. Either he survived and put himself in that position, or the killer put him that way. "My god..." Sputty examined the body, and deduced that the time of death was around 8:20. Sputty also realized that he was stabbed through the lungs, which would mean that it would take about 10 minutes for him to die, while he runs out of oxygen. The table he was sitting behind with his dinner on it had a tipped over bowl of soup, a fork, and a knife at the base of it. However, the dinner plate, spoon, and martini glass were found much farther, lying with dried blood clots on them. "Why are those pieces of silverware so much farther away..." "Why does it matter? It was probably swept away during the struggle" Dharkbayne reasoned. "Hey, look at this!" Jennyboo exlaimed. She was looking at the lodge safe. There were a lot of scratches around the handle of the safe. "Isn't it obvious? Someone tried to rob Hamma, as soon as we got here, he put all of his valuables in that safe. Hamma saw him as he was in this room, and the thief killed him.," SDM proclaimed. Chewy walked to the window, which was broken in. A set of footsteps was seen going straight to the window in a 90 degree angle, and a set leaving. "It's obvious that none of us did it. It was probably someone outside who wanted to make a quick score." "Wait a second. Don't leave. This wasn't a robbery. Someone in this room was the killer," Chewy stated. "What?! How was this not a simple thievery?" "Look at the footsteps. They come quite boldly, walking parllel to the house about 10 feet out, and then walking straight to the window. I know that if I were to try to rob someone, I would creep up along the wall. Also, if this was a thievery, why didn't they take Hamma's gold watch? That'd be worth quite a bit." Everyone looked at Hamma's wrist. Indeed, his watch was left on his wrist. "No... this wasn't just a simple thievery. This was a premeditated attack. Since no one else knows Hamma outside of this lodge, the killer is inside this very room! Everyone is a suspect, no one leaves this room." "That's ridiculous, I was at the slopes. It's a 10 minute drive from here to there. I even have the ski lift ticket right here." Dharkbayne showed Chewy a ski lift ticket, the entering time being 8:20 and the leaving time being 8:30. Today's date was also clearly printed on the ticket as "1/14" "You all know where I was, I was at the store buying your snacks. It's a long drive here and back," SDM reasoned. "Well, Chewy knows where I was the whole time, I was with him cleaning the house. I did leave for a couple of minutes to take out the garbage..." Sputty said. "And you, Jennyboo?" "Well, I was, uh, taking a bath! You know very well where I was!" "Interesting... well that's too bad. I know who the killer was! It was..." And that's the end of the story. Given these clues, figure out who the killer was and how (s)he did it.

It was either Jenny or SDM. Maybe jenny because she was Hamma's secret lover and she had someone else lined up and Hamma found out and threatened to tell the otehr guy, and she then killed him. Or SDM, because it would have been easy to sneak back in after he left. And what kind of convienience store runs out of Ice Cream and celery? Really...

Her motive? No idea. Maybe she wanted Hamma out of the way so she could run PSU? |
