No GeforceFX 5800 Ultra for you! - 1:44 am EST - silencerelite You heard it right. nVidia has canned GeforceFX 5800 Ultra and it will never make it to retail. For those who pre-ordered it a while back will get Ultra version however for who's planning to get, don't bother unless they're fine with non-Ultra version for $300. I thought it was a bit shocking since ATI already close to release Radeon 9900 Pro in March. nVidia better get their ass out and bring out NV35 otherwise get other blow from ATI's R400. Gotta love competitions! |

I read the other day that the R9900 was actually ahead of schedule. It won't be released earlier, but this gives radeon time to optimize their drivers and really take the lead.

I have lost alot of faith in Nvidia after this. I have never owned anything except GeForce cards, but I chose to go ahead and pick up a 9700 Pro for my new pc, and if the 9900 is as good as I hope, I might be willing to drop the big bucks to add that next month.
