So, Super 8s

So, I just bought myself a good old Super 8 (from eBay). Got it working, got a new battery and film, but aren't sure what to do with it now. I'm going to make a film, of some variety, (no shit, sherlock) but I'm not sure if I should start by just doing random things to get used to the camera, or to jump right in. I'm a bit of a film fanatic, and thought I'd like to try my hand at it.

So:
A: Any ideas as what I should do? I live near both a reasonably large city and a lot of countryside, I was thinking a contrast of the two. Just something short, pure self indulgence with angles and such.

B: Anyone know how long roughly normal Super 8 films last? (Length in time, and feet?)

C: Any tips for what I should/ shouldn't do?

A) I'd enact a mock war with sticks in place of guns, and eventually move into the city and yell about the impending Luftwaffe strike.

I assume it's a recording video camera of some sort.

A.) Whatever you do, use "Neon Golden" by The Notwist as your opener. It has the best credit/opening sequence score to it. I would suggest sticking to the city, but I just prefer urban scaping to quaint houses.

B.) Dunno

C.) Whatever you do, don't try and do zoom shots with such an old camera, unless you can focus well and absolutely need a panoramic. They tend to go in and out of focus if you try to pull of stuff like that.

As it turns it, it seems that a Kodak super 8 film cartridge is 50 feet long. I dunno how that translates into filming time though.

Super 8 =

I actually do like the sound of Mags idea...

Hrmm, I'll probably avoid zoom shots, but I was thinking of going for a cheap documenatry style filiming...

50 feet? Erk, that's not that long, I think a full lenght film is about 1.5 kilometres long or so..
