Some of you may have seen this, ive only seen it twice. Its on G4TechTV and a few other channels but its rare and only runs on TV every few hours. Its a good trailer and shows that Halo 2 is also going to be a great cinematic game as well.

HFS!
I have the shorter version of the trailer, but it dosen't have half the detail that one does. Observations:
My story theory: The Covenant make it to Earth as told in First Strike. Although crippled by the loss of the Unyeilding Herophant, they manage to jump a relatively large fleet to Earth. Still reeling from the devastating loss on the majority of our fleet, Earth defenses manage to hold off the vast majority of the fleet, but a ground invasion begins. (It has been around three weeks since the Reach Incident, and two since the destruction of the first Halo. However, time is disrupted because of the "crystal" events in First Strike.) Some kind of vacume forms in the Covenant leadership. Could be a lot of reasons, but I'm going to speculate that it's probably racial tension. (Not all the species in the Covenant are willing participants. I've read that the Hunters and possibly the brutes are on the verge of revolt. That said, the only races that seem to be truely happy with how things are going would seem to be the Elites and Prophets.) The other likely reason is because there are similar "treasures" on Earth, as there was on Reach. (I'll avoid specific discription to minimize spoilers.) One Covenant faction wants to retrieve the artifacts, one wants to simply exterminate us. I have absolutely no idea how it will end, other then to say that I would *LIKE* them to simply wow everyone by pulling a last minute explanation that ties Halo 1, Halo 2, the Marathon series, and the ILoveBees.com and Cortana Letter incidents together. One big interconnected, epic ending that would blow evereyone off their feet.

My newest "your post made no sense" pic. =D EarlyDawn: Indeed. The Elites, Prophets and Engineers founded the Covenant and the rest were taken by force. That's a good theory. Me, having read the books myself, can see that happening. We'll find out in a week. Also, EarlyDawn, I'll send Divine Bovine an invite, accept a Friends invite from Giygas.

I should also mention, on www.bungie.net there is a new update, a snippet from the Limited Edition DVD up for download. Cheggitout. Pretty cool.
The customizable emblems are AWESOME. As is the Warthog reticle, it spins while you shoot. Coolio.

The best Halo 2 sneak peek I've seen yet.
I'm playing it for the Single player campaign. I know most people want Multiplayer, but imho it's just going to be too much like UT2k4, and it will never match the scale of PS I have grown to love. And uh, I read a little of that ilovebees site...so can someone tell me in plain english what it is? I'm guessing it's a Halo fansite encrypted as a beekeeper's website? |

The gun katas. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the Cleric has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly. |
