Bad quality, sorry.
:note to self: When forging and you quench your metal, still give it time for it to cool off.

We just started making stuff (freshman, I decided to forge a hook, Arc seemed too hard, everyone had sheetmetal, nothing else really interested me but forge)
something like this: Since it was my first time I was all hyped up, woot i'm beating hot metal more than....anyways i didn't like my tongs that i was holding it with so i quenched it so i could pick it up and get new tongs to try it out with. I did so and layed my piece of rod down and went for a new pair, the teacher came over to see what i was doing so i completely forgot about how hot it was and went mach3 to the metal. After that i decided to stick with my first tongs. Ahhh, good retarded times.

We were forging some basic weapons actually... Nothing special or dangerous really, everything was dulled. It was basically "See who can design the best looking dagger" competition. Anyway... I had to forge the hilt seperate from the blade and would attach it later. When I went to attach it I kinda just... completely ignored the fact that the blade was still very hot. So hot I didn't notice I was burning my hand because it 'overloaded' my nerve endings in my left hand. I couldn't feel anything for quite some time, it looked quite bad too...
