These people keep ranting and quiting, we might just lose this game. All I hear of late is that of people quiting and the game is going down the whole. It's the only game of this type and i would be quite disappointed to see it go away.

Dont expect people to stay with the game as some kind of charity. It is my personall belief that the developers have made some piss poor choices, failed to carry through on implied promises and other assorted massacres of this game. Hell i was even in smoke jumpers focus group for a while swapping emails with him while i was in Korea. Back then (and this was like a year ago now) they knew what the problems were and what to do to fix, but all of a sudden we have BFR, change to the hack structure that wernt necissary and other assorted foolishness. I could go into a long dissertation on why planetside is the paradise lost of gaming, but i just cant muster the effort anymore.

Well, for what it's worth, Smokejumper doesn't work for SOE anymore, and BFRs were his idea. I have a lot of confidence in the new Producer/Lead Designer's capabilities. Once the BFRs are sorted out (next patch?) I look forward to seeing what Samhayne can do, as thus far aside from the (great) little fixes, like the Warp Queue, flail damage change, eject malfunction, etc, he's been basically finishing what was left over from the last Lead Designer.

In general, being an asshole to someone will make them less inclined to listen to you. Saying "HAY DEVS LOOK WAT U DID HERE LOL ****" during a live, shoutcasted event, won't get changes made to the game (though it may change the amount the developers interact with the community).
