If it's a first date, I'd recommend going for coffee or something. Make it earlier in the evening, 7pm-ish. Coffee is better than going to dinner because with dinner, you have a big block of time that you HAVE to fill with conversation. What if she turns out to be really, really boring? That's at least an hour of boredom and awkwardness.

So take her out for coffee. If the conversation is so wonderful and great, take her home and ask her out on another date. After an hour or so of being in the coffee place, say, "Bah, we should get going, I have a really big day tomorrow."

a movie may be overdone but a good first date. you don't have to talk too much since you will probably be watching the movie (or not)...then afterwards you can be able to hang out with her a little bit and get to know her for real....or you can show her your peepee!

Seriously, just be yourself. Coffee shops are a good thing to try out, its fairly casual and easy to back out of. Don't do something 'fun' that will take her mind off you. ie, bowling is a good 3rd or 4th date, but not a first date. If she's concentrating on the bowling ball... her mind wont be on your balls. The goal of the first date is to get to know her better and have her get to know you. Do something fairly casual that encourages conversation. Just ask yourself: "What does she like to do?" "What do I like to do?" "What is my goal for the end of the night?" "How can I accomplish this goal". Answer those questions and you'll be on the fast track to a great date. Have a clear goal in mind and work for it, but dont aim too high. Casually work it up until you can DHITB.


Be a little more confident in yourself and your ability to grab a girl, nightwalker! Being independant in dating decisions is the BEST thing to do in order to master dating. I personally love to master date.
