QFT. Spending 2 years as a dev on a project AFTER release is a long time. Many of those guys were there through the development process too, meaning they've been working with PS for over 3 years. In the game industry, after you have several years of experience and a game or 2 under your belt, your chances of getting hired for a signficantly higher-paying position tend to go up. I'm sure Spork, Tom, and T-Ray all got some pretty nice offers for their new positions, and it gives them a chance to get a fresh start on a new project. Despite how much I'm sure they love PlanetSide (I certainly got that impression in Orlando), after a few years they probably want to work on something else. And higher pay is a definate perk as well.
Hopefully their replacements will be veteran PS players themselves with prior development experience. And with PS China going well, and PC Format pulling in new players, hopefully SOE will have the budget to fund the PS team well
