It's actually not that bad of a guide, most of the stuff in there was actually covered in my first couple of classes of kung-fu. They did make an error thought on the distance that should be put between you and your opponent. Normally the kill zone is the lenght of the opponents leg. You should usally stay outside of the kill zone wich means "his leg + 6 inches", you get used to staying outside of that zone with training.
