I run Firmware 1.5 but have my PSP hacked to hell and back. I've got it emulating up to firmware 2.5 if I want to use the browser or watch media (like movie .AVIs I've compressed down onto the 1 gig meory stick).
I've also got some cool OSes installed on it with mouse support, mp3 players and such. It's pretty kickass. If you've got firmware version 2.00, you might want to use a downgrader and put it at 1.5, then just emulate 2.00 when you want to use it for surfin. There are so many awesome homebrews for version 1.5, everything from Wi-Fi sniffers to console emulators and media players. Figuring out some of it can take a bit but IMO it's well worth the effort. |
