You do realize this has nothing to do with one entity's superiority over the other, right?

Anyway it's a stupid ban, going very far overboard on trying to prevent violence.

This is stupid, video games dont create violence, fucked up people create violence. How bout 100 years ago when there was violence and killings, no tv or games to blame then. Its in human nature to be violent, cavemen were violent at times and so are we. Banning video games and movies and tv wont stop it, alls it does it create more violence by pissing people off for taking away their rights.

Age old argument that inspires debates that belong with those of abortion and the death penalty. No one is going to change their position.

Thats an easy way to oversimplify and shrug off all kinds of important issues.

Have you ever heard anyone changing their view significantly on any of those aforementioned topics? There are countless others that can be included in that group.

My point is that if you come to me and present me with a list of statistics, complelling rhetoric, testimonials, etc about an issue that you believe in, 99 times out of 100 I'm not going to just switch sides because you did your homework. Really this works with everything. The goal of most sensible persuassive speeches and arguments is to alter beliefs, not convert new followers. You most likely won't be able to convince a Catholic preacher that abortion is ethical and should remain legal, but you may be able to take some of the zealous edge off his opinion.

I'm just tired of seeing the government debate the same so called "important" issues over and over when they could actually be doing something useful.

If violent video games were outlawed in Europe, then wouldn't WoW be outlawed? I mean, it is a violent video game. And there are 8.5 million playing world wide. I don't think those few million in Europe would it.
