Armor color

First I'd like to say Hi to everyone on PSU,

I've been lurking on this forum since 2004 but never posted anything. (Lazy is the only word I can think of).

After following up on the PS2 news, I probably missed one important thing imo, I'm not sure if this has been posted before or not but let me get to it.

The armor look and color depending on your BR.
I've always loved that, the way an NC would go from Pure blue to yellow/gold, and then after a few patches black.
The TR from Grey to pure red.
The VS from....well they all look the same to me but they seem to like it.

Although I liked the look of the armor on PS2, but I couldn't help notice one thing....it's a little ahrd for me to tell the difference when it comes to color, t's only the armor shape that helps me differentiate between the 3 factions, and I was wondering if they would bring out the color a little more and even more important to me is if they will implement the armor color change depending on your BR?

And afaik (maybe I understood it wrong) but they seem to be removing CR, if that's the case, will we also lose the epic leg, arm pads along with the backpack? or are they planning to implement that in a different way?
I know they will have different trees with different paths that you would end up looking a lot different then others, for example medics would stand out for everyone to kill them first and there would be some jetpacks after the leaders of the other 2 factions thought "those Vanu Max's are annoying, lets get us some of those jet packs to help even the battlefield".

But when it comes to true leaders, would they stand out ahead of the others?
I'm well aware that being CR5 didn't really make anyone a true leader, thats why I was hoping for those who go deep into the leadership tree would end up standing out like a true boss, and not just someone who sets targets and objectives while running around in a supresser :o

What are your thoughts in this?

The cash shop will be used for customization. I don't believe anything has been mentioned about the color of the armor changing. However, it would make sense that those kinds of aesthetics will be removed and be more of a pay for visual enhancement thing since a lot of people enjoy looking different and getting those CR upgraded plates.

You see, although I can see a red stripe on the TR models, but they are mostly all grey to me :/
afaik I'm not color blind.

Well I do agree with the pay options, but aside from that, we want to tell the difference between a new character and a veteran the same way we did back on ps.
Again it is a cosmetic thing, but unless you need to be a certain BR to unlock it then fine I guess.

What? No. Base armor colors/designs should be determined by rank. Any additional stripes/flames/bunnies you want on your armor you can pay for. I like being able to tell what rank someone is just by looking at their armor; not how much they dish out to customize their armor. A cash shop is a bad idea from the get-go for the game IMO and shouldn't let you get whatever you want for a few bucks. I'd rather your customization for armor and vehicles be determined by your merits/achievements in the path you specialize in.

I wouldn't be so strict about it. Let's say that there can be a cash shop that allows modifying a your armor. But only its model, not its color.

EDIT: Like a helmet of different shape, some extra spikes on your shoulder pads and stuff like that...

EDIT2: Also with these pictures I've meant that there IS a color differentiation. Look closely. The 2nd screenshot and, let's say, the last one...

Modifying the shape of your armor is better, but I still wouldn't really want it.

Look at the second pic, guy on the right. The V on his helmet is gray, no stripe on pants, no stripe on chest, guy on right has no stripe on his back.

Now look at pics 4 and 5, Red V on helmets, and they have red stripes on their chests, pants and backs. In the last pic the guy on the right even has a big solid red stripe on his helmet instead of the V shape all the other toons have, but he is also missing his goggles

I also just noticed the difference between the TR and the NC guy sneaking behind him. Notice the TR's armor is more uniformed and looks like it fits together. While the NC is wearing a leather jacket underneath and looks like a ragtag resistance fighter compared to the TR

Actually, all the models we have seen so far are mostly grey, not just the TR ones. I wonder if they are all low-rank and grey is the new low-rank color for every empire, or SOE just decided to tone down the carnival-like color patterns
