Steam was hacked

So apparently the steams forums got hacked, with the potential that account and credit card information may also have been accessed.

Be sure to change your steam and steam forum passwords and watch your credit card activity, although there has currently been no indication of any cards being used.

I guess this is pretty deja vu for people who dealt with the SOE thing. I appreciate how they are being forthcoming and responsive about it though.

Just in time for my credit card to expire. Good luck using that hackers.

That seriously sucks though, seems like a lot of dependable online services are becoming victims of cyber attacks.

if you can't, just enable steam guard so people can't log into steam using a different computer unless you allow them through email. it's not as good as changing your steam PW but it's a good temporary fix

also, if your email PW is the same as your steam, then you might want to change it.

Can't change my Steam password either, I've had problems with Steam for years. For a few of them I refused to use it at all. Once I got my new PC I amazingly remembered my password so it's gone well. But because of the Secret Question that I probably faked around age 14, I can't change the password.

lol, i was a bit cocky in my youth. Alot of my password hints were "You know it".
A few more were rude messages to would be hackers.
