My apologies if this has been discussed before.
Has there been any confirmation that PS2 will indeed use station cash like other SOE games? I'm not currently playing any of their other games, but I noticed the tripple sale yesterday and thought about stocking up for when PS2 is finally released. I read however that they have those sales several times each year so I plan on catching another one before release. Has anyone else had similar plans? |

Yea, im pretty sure it would, i doubt they want thousands of transaction going around for .99c, easier to do one at $30.00 and have the station cash.
that and its more ingame friendly to have SC, goes well with impulse buying too, want new gun attachment? well you have the SC all you have to do is click the button! just click it! click it, click, click it, click it....CLICK IT! |

SC is pretty obvious really. It's already build into SOE with other games. Battlefield P4F and Heroes share currency so you can play multiple games without having to put money all over the place.
Makes players of other SOE games want to try PS2 also. |

PS2 will be F2P based, this has been mentioned several times already. Doesn't this ring a bell in your mind? |

We have not officially announced a business model, however we do use Station Cash in every other game and have recently secured physical card distribution in the EU and other countries. It wouldn't be a stretch to assume SC would be usable in Planetside 2 as well.

Can go into a shop and buy a plastic card that is worth a certain amount of station cash so you can take it home and add to your account. They were US stores only...

I am wondering if our European brethren would be able to avoid the Value Added Tax by purchasing a Sony Station Cash card in the EU verses using the Station Portal and purchasing them digitally? If so I am sure the peoples of the EU would greatly appreciate not having to pay an additional tax to buy PS2 items.
I know that is one of the ways I get around paying local sales tax. I pick up items like this when I travel to states with no sales tax in order to avoid the additional 7-10% Washington Sales tax. Yes I am that petty, don't even get me started about any major purchases... |
