C'mon, guys, it isn't 1997. We aren't using dial-up modems. Lets flex our ability to handle pictures larger than 65x65 pixels or 30 kbs (whichever is smaller).

We prefer to remain in 1997.

I'll take a look at the options.

All 3 (4) of these posts would have required more scrolling with larger avatars since the current avatars dictated the size of the postbits.

One to two sentence posts with no quoting involved does not seem to be representative of the bulk of the posts made on this website, however.

I have all avatars and sigs disabled. Makes it far better browsing.

How about an option to shrink everyone's avatar to tiny size, so no matter how big and ridiculous their avatar, or sig, they could be micro-minimized?

I mean, for the individual viewer. So, I could minimize sigs and avatars, while others could have them take up multiple screens, in their view, if that's their thing.

Yea at this point I am leaning towards leaving it as is. To be honest Avatars really bug me I'd rather they be off altogether if anything perhaps I will up the file size a bit.

I agree to a point. Personally I like Avatars and Signatures, as they are a quick, easy way to identify who is responding at a glance. On the other hand, when they get large and obnoxious, they're just a nuisance. I think as long as they don't stretch the screen, or cause seizures; avatars and signatures are fine.

All graphics and colour schemes should be disabled, lest I be forced to scroll unduly or have the efficiency of my web-browsing impinged upon by superfluous aesthetic effects.
