When will Beta invitations by email be sent?

Hey, im just going mad with anticipation. I know no one can really say a date, but im new to beta and i was just wondering how long before beta starts are the invites likely to be sent out? A Day? A week? Two?

Short answer ... we don't know and the DEVS haven't said.

Speculation: they wouldn't have given keys to readers of PC Gamer if it was a long time to go .... sooo .... 3-4 weeks?

**Edit ... also beta will start off fairly small so not everyone will receive an invitation at the same time.

They'll probably go out sometime in the summer or fall. I wouldn't worry about the beta. Plenty of great games just around the corner to keep you entertained until they get this one sorted.

PCGamer wouldn't have given beta keys out if beta wasn't near. We were told beta would be Q1 of this year. How could you possibly think that beta won't be till fall?

I reckon beta will be announced at GDC - invites to come out mid-month for an end of March beta.

GW2 is going to go into a wider closed beta soon, and will be coming out soon after. They really need to get their shizzle together because GW2 will be taking ALOT of MMO players off the market.

At the moment, people are bored of WoW and Star Wars is just WoW with a skin over it. GW2 will do REALLY well. PS2 beta needs to be soon

Theres not a single title coming up short from PS2 that is even remotely interesting or me. That said, I doubt the beta will start as late as you expect.

I honestly am expecting beta to be fairly soon... It just feels like they are pretty much done with designing content and are now working on what they are going to keep and what not. Granted we havent seen any continents besides the one we see in all the screen shots.

But maybe my expectations for beta being soon is driven by the fact I want to test out the game before I start school in mid May.
