Perhaps something infiltrators could carry. Basically a small device which, when placed on a surface, restricts radar and 'spotting' in the surrounding area of X meters.
Would allow Infils to sort of lead the way, place of a few of these, letting the non-cloaked people have a higher chance of infiltration into the base...or at least let them get closer without facing a full response. The jammers would only last like 5 minutes, so that they would be useful yet not abused and making the spotting system useless. Spotting would still work to an extent. A question mark would show up in the general area where the soldier who was spotting, spotted hostiles (poor word choice). However, it would be on the minimap as opposed to a 3D spot tracking the target. This way, someone can go "Hey, there are enemies over there!" They just can't track them all directly. I dunno, parts of it would need to be worked out. I just like the idea of being able to get close to a base without one guy clicking the spot button a million times and lighting up your team like a f*cking Christmas tree. I abused the hell out of the spot system in Battlefield games, its ridiculously OP. I don't wanna see that happen to PS2 |

Do sensor jammers just block radar and spotting or would they also cloak from eyes? If not, is there something else that does cloak from eyes?
I was thinking that sending in an advance team to a hex to set up jammers(and cloaks) on a spot to prepare it for a forward base to be able to land undetected would be cool. |

If they restrict spotting to squads and then with certs for infils or leaders so platoon/outfit can also see. This should cause the spotting to work pretty well.
Jammers are a good thing, depending on what they jam. Perhaps multiple jammers that block different things? I.e. one for thermal scopes, one for darklight etc. These things promote more tactical play (a thing I'm pretty supportive of) but it really depends on how they are implemented. |
