i dont know. it seems alright. but i dont know because this is mmo and i theyre constnatly updated which will screw you over. but i saw a cstrike strategy guide and its pretty nice. map strategies(of course) as well as very nice diagrams of effective snap shooting, how to approach areas, what weapons you should use in certian situations as well as grenades, very comprehensive and i think that the ps book will be alright.

strategy guides are only good for single player story games. they tell you where all the secret shit is and how to beat the game in the quickest time.
for multiplayer games, they are absolutely horrendous. buy it if you plan to really really suck. in my experience, they are written by noobs, for noobs. the people they get to write them have absolutely 0 common sense when it comes to games. and after a month or two the community has adapted and new strategies are used so the book is twice as useless

They butchered the DAOC one as well as Everquest. I am sure it will be the same here. |

I agree with the general consensus. Don't buy it. It's so much more fun in MMO games to just log on and get the in-game experience for yourself.

I wouldn't bother. They are probably OK when the game first comes out - but because of last minute changes and the time it takes to print the guides, they can be out of date even then.
A house mate that the EQ guide. It did have some nice features - nice maps, some indexed lists of sfuff for loot and character creation - all bound up in a neat package. But I was able to find all these things on line. The quality varied, to be sure - some maps were more crudely drawn, but the info was up to date. On-line fan sites had searchable equipment databases that were updated by players as soon as a patch hit. And it's all free. If you have the money to burn, it wouldn't hurt, I guess, but I've never personally bought one. I think the only gaming book I ever got was Death Match Manifesto, which was more about the general concept of FPS death match games. |

Im not sure who wrote it but the guide for AO was pretty bad. It was outdated by the time i got the game and the info was all old. A fun read in class no doubt but i wouldnt recommend it. Then again if its like $10-$15 it might be fun just to have.
