Wall Turrets

How will they work at night?

Will they get awesome spotlights or nightvision?

How should they work? Is there any information that I missed on the upgrading of these turrets?

Could they be implemented into the certification system and change based on the player?

+1 to ridiculously bright spotlights on wall turrets at night. Makes me think of the lights that would come off a prison wall. To your second point, I don't know that they've said anything about upgrading turrets, but it worked out pretty well in the first one: wasn't too OP but was still worth it, so I don't see why they wouldn't include it in the sequel.

Love the Spot light idea. That would look awesome in the dark.

Spot light would make you a very easy target. I'd rather shoot without it tbh.

They could make it like the laser sight or w/e so you can toggle it on and off.

Agreed. Wouldn't even have to change it from the headlight hotkey for vehicles. This would be a great way to point out someone hiding in a tree or a rock formation.

They shouldn't be that vulnerable. Turrets should be superior.

There stationary turrets its not like your going to be able to sneak off away from the battle and find a good spot to hide. :P

Yes but there will be enemy tanks and aircraft lurking about, I would hate to make their job at aiming at me that easy. I hope however that turrets will have IR vision mode for night fights.

I know. Still giant beam of light pointing at you would make you a target practice for everyone. Also it reveals instantly that the turret is functional and manned.

Well then the spot light will be directed towards the tanks and aircraft and everyone will be firing at them. Sounds like a good deal :P

This + I'd love it if the light was so bright, that if approaching the beam head on, a pilot's screen would be flared causing him to slam into a tree or something... Though as I type this I'm reminded of the horror that was BF3 flashlights before they were toned down, soooo take it or leave it I guess.

But we all know that in reality BF3 "nailed" nothing. It's very easy to have bright lights in a game that don't blind players. Besides, that wouldn't be the purpose of adding a spot light to turrets.

Re: Wall Turrets

Blinding a player could be a very viable strategy to make them miss/deter or win a head on fight though (turn it on and off tactically). Would give a stationary unit with this short TTK thing PS2 got going a little bit more of a fighting chance.

Would have to see how it works out. Could be very annoying. Could be pointless.

I see blinding players as a perfectly valid tactic; if they can't shoot back at you, they're a sitting duck and have to take cover until you turn away to engage another target.
