I'm looking at hooking up planetside 2 to a big tv in the living, we need to get a tv anyways ive been looking at this one

http://comet.co.uk/p/LED-TVs/buy-SAM...-LED-TV/417883

Will this play good? ATM I have a macmini basic model 2011 but I will need some more firepower for planetside any ideals on a good pc unit to fit under my nice new tv.

Also using xbox controller Support with the set up

Samsung makes a nice TV...really, flat panels are a commodity these days, the most major difference is the internet/software they put in and the styling.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with 3D and save some bucks.

And, like everybody else, if you want a PC recommendation fill out the forum in the sticky.

Like Rbstr said nice TV, but if you do not need 3D avoid it imo. Plenty of great TVs out there without it.

You will likely need a pretty powerful GPU to cope with the resolution of the TV versus a monitor. As said previously post the form so we know what you are looking for.

I would go for a 670 at a minimum. Couple that with a i5 3570 and you are set.

With regards to TV's for gaming use, Samsung makes some of the best.

You want to be able to turn off all the post processing effects and other bells and whistles that the TV uses or else you will have a noticiable input lag while gaming. Samsung TV's have an actual Game Mode you can set the tv to that will disable all of these for you and give you the fastest response time for the best gaming experience. I had a D630 last year and it made for a great gaming TV. Not sure about their 3d sets as I havent had one myself, but Samsung is a top quality tv manufacturer that has gamers in mind when developing its sets.

the gpu doesnt know if its outputing a signal to a tv or a monitor it just knows its pumping out 1920x1080p @ 60hz. He could undoubtedly get by on far less than a gtx 670 @ 1080p resolutions if he wanted to.
