Simple bounty missions pairs, could make daily gameplay more fun.
"Go kill the player "________", last seen a half km south of Zurvan amp station on foot. He's been a thorn in our side and must be eliminated. And the counter mission... "Intelligence says the TR have sent someone to hunt you in the Zurvan Amp Station area. We haven't seen a name but he prefers to use <weapon>. Kill him before he gets to you, we can't allow TR to interfere in our strategy there." Similarly outfits should get counter missions (I've seen this suggested in other threads) "Take the NE Zurvan amp station air tower in the next three hours, we need it to hold the defensive line against the NC. Intelligence suggests a defence presence of Vanu Toxin Raiders." and "Enemy activity building in the area around NE Zurvan Amp station air tower. Defend it at all costs. SIGINT tells us the Blue Lions may push for this objective and we need you to hold it at all costs." What do people think? |

But won't this be basically telling everyone. "Hey, look over here, these people are heading to this place, lets tell the whole enemy empire automatically and give them bonus xp as well"
Is this a player created mission or one made by the game? Because if its made by players then its not too bad, but if the game makes it. Then it sounds over powered and will stop spec ops style captures. |

How about if a player gets enough kills or does exceptionally well in a single life, a broadcast goes out to all soldiers in the area to bring him down for a little bonus XP or resources. Kind of like a reverse kill-streak reward.
I for one think it would be awesome to have a bounty on my head for doing really well. Very flattered when I find people specifically going for me in games. EDIT: And add a merit for it; Headhunter bronze/gold/silver: collect X number of bounties on members of opposing empires. Last edited by Ratstomper; 2012-06-22 at 01:02 AM. |

I just realized my idea has no real bearing on the discussion. That said, I'm not sure there should be mechanized systems for determining where players go and what they do there. That should be reserved for command to do.
Now if it were a system that sort of happened alongside where people were already going and doing things, I would be cool with that. However, it shouldn't interfere at all with how the natural flow of battle should go. Last edited by Ratstomper; 2012-06-22 at 01:08 AM. |

First part - no to missions against individual players... it's war not the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral". However I can imagine these kind of missions being on Outfit level by High ranking officials:
Second part is good.... |

These sorts of bounty hunts would happen naturally without the mission system.... opposing forces always have vendettas against particularly effective soldiers.
For example Vasily Zaytsev was a Russian sniper at Stalingrad who was so notorious that the German forces set up a counter sniper specifically to hunt him down. |

To me, bounties should only be added to the game if they are created by players. Like you put up a large auraxium bounty on their head from your own pocket. Then people can go through a bounty list and see who has a bounty on their head and go hunting.
Although I'm starting to rethink this since it would start up a system of lone-wolfing. So perhaps not. |
