Tanks that need two drivers before they can operate properly
One driver for turning only the left side of the tank One driver for turning only the right side of the tank In order for the drivers to turn the tank, they both have to press the same Key on their keyboard, for example: Tod wants to turn left so he presses the A key, Rick also presses the A key which then turns the tank left, if both drivers press opposite keys (Tod presses A while rick presses D) then the tank will go straight. Oh! and they both control if the tank goes forward or not, so if Tod presses W and Rick presses W then the tanks goes forward. If Tod presses W but Rick presses S then the Tank will come to a complete stop as the two differing commands cancel each other out. It would require the utmost communication from both parties!! The teamwork would have to be so great, it'll be like two people in a potato sack race coming to terms with their differences then accepting them, then becoming first place winners of said race, then becoming bffs forever and doing that thing in the hot tub that no one will ever talk about ever again... .... It's an awesome idea! Say Yay for dual drivers! |

I was inclined initially to applaud this idea as brilliant and revolutionary, but after further consideration, I wonder if you're not thinking on a grand enough scale. Why stop at two drivers?
I propose an alternative system with 360 drivers, where each driver can only move the tank in a fixed direction, and each direction is separated by one degree. The turret too, will require 360 crew members, each one responsible for a one-degree firing angle. Given SOE's stated goal of 2,000 players per continent, this idea will naturally require an increased player cap (from 2,000 to 2,160) so that each team can field its own fully manned tank. While this may stretch the resources of the development team (as the game will require an 8% increase in optimization for player count) the manifest (even exponential) increase in the fun factor of the game will be well worth the cost.

(For those that don't know, this was an actual proposed vehicle during WWII) |
