Games to practice for PS2 Flying

Some of you may have seen my previous post http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...ad.php?t=45316

Well I ended up buying a cheap flight stick and I have quickly fallen in love with BF3 jets. However, it seem that BF3 and PS2 flying could not be more different so are there any games out there you guys know of that would be good practice for PS2? Preferably a game with similar flying mechanics that PS2 will have. I would love to be able to pick one up especially with the steam sale still going on. Thanks!!

I was thinking the same thing, and then I found this in my "games I haven't played in a decade" box.

Better than nothing?

With the way people are making the Scythe sound, your best bet maybe to try out QWOP. I think once you master that game you'll be an ace with the Scythe from the get go.

I don't know, I remember hearing in a video that the flying was most similar to BF3 but since you already play that..

I feel suddenly compelled to tell you that I have made it 32 meters.

Well, if you can handle the DCS A-10c Warthog you can fly everything!

I'm not sure there's a good analogue. BF3 looks like a similar control paradigm, but it won't teach you anything about applying the translational forces that the VTOLs in PS2 will have. If you can get over the giggle factor, HAWX is at least in the same ballpark.

QWOP it is.

YESS.

I have decided PS2 needs a hand glider. A teammate in an aircraft can tow you to the flight ceiling and off you go!

I would just like to know how close to ps1 are the controls for ps2 honestly.... I hear the flying is a lot different.

Not sure anyone could give you a suggestion unless they REALLY sat down and got to fly in ps2. I am looking into re buying my flight stick.... I sold my old one along time ago and I miss it. saitek x52 Pro I needs me one

vtol/jet unless their is a harrier option I don't think a flight sim will cover it.

At E3, a top 25 BF3 fighter pilot came up and hopped on a VS station, and had never played PS2 before. I showed him where to get the Scythe from, and within 30 seconds he was chasing a Reaver with the nosegun, getting every single hit in. So I'd say BF3 does teach you how to fly for PS2, just maybe not the finer mechanics of each aircraft.
