I saw the "raw and uncut" footage of TB.
There he is perfoming several liberator runs. The footage shows that it is difficult to get a gunner into your lib. You have to find a landing spot which are not proper implemented in environment near bases. Therefore your gunner has to wait somewhere outside the base. That means in big fight it will be almost impossible to get your gunner inside the lib without getting killed. I would suggest to implement a feature that makes it possible to enter the lib together with your gunners at the air vehicle facility. What do you thik about this idea? |

I'm pretty sure this is something that is planned to be 'fixed'.
However, in PS1, you did have to land your lib in order to get gunners/passengers, which made sense and worked well. The issue with PS2 is that landing probably isn't very easy at current, likely to be fixed during later development & testing. Also, I think you can squad spawn into vehicles in PS2... |

That would need a huge efford. All base models must be changed for that. But for sure this is a nice solution since the bases will look more realistic.
It looks somekind stupid that a pilot who is landing on a landing pad has to jump down the building to enter the base. PS2 should not be a jump and run game. Last edited by Mox; 2012-08-02 at 09:56 AM. |

Agreed. There needs to be some kind of walkway to and from the landing pads.
Because if you land as an Engineer and your vehicle dies as you are trying to repair it on the landing pad then you are stuck. Having your pilots platform their way down (on the outside of the building) to ground level isn't very efficient for a military installation. |

Whoops 8 ) yeah it looks like we are going to need some tricky flying to be able to pick up someone inside the base. Now it might be a lot easier than it looks in some of the footage because we as if yet dont know the maps.

Didn't seem that tough to me. I was shocked that they could pull a lib from a tower in the first place.
TB typically found good places to land and he found work arounds like keeping the aircraft pressed down against the ground so people could get in without a problem. In a heavy fire fight it should be difficult to get your vehicle fully manned because you shouldn't really be able to do it if the enemy is actively trying to suppress you. How fun is it for the attackers if they are swarming your base and you can easily spawn fully crewed vehicles? That being said, PS1 did allow you to jump into vehicles when they were hovering just off the ground, it was tricky and not at all worth the effort except in situations where you didn't have enough space to fully land (Galaxy just off a landing pad at a base for example). |

There should be designated landing pads for crew to load up into their respective craft, for example around a tower with an airterm there would be 4-5 landing pads on the ground where pilots can land gals or libs. There would be a station much like an airterm on the edge of the landing pad which people on the ground can access, look at the schematic of the craft, then click on an empty slot in the schematic to enter the aircraft.

good pilots will have no problem with this....
just wait till it gets low enough and press 'E'. Bad pilots will crash into other aircraft or towers trying to pic people up and will make for some funny footage if anyone's recording |
