Will Biological Weapons make it to PS2? Just some examples below...what are your thoughts or ideas??
*Weapon - Delivery - Effects *Mustard Gas - Artillary/Mortar/Grenade - Disorientation/Min Health reduction while in cloud *Nerve Toxin - Air Drop/Mortar - Paralysis those not in vehicles (5 seconds) *Nano Sickness - Artilary/Mortar - Impares your vision/ability to use weapons+drive for 1 minute *Dislexic Toxin - Grenade/Artilary - Controls function backwards while in cloud |

So you wouldn't mind getting spammed with paralysis grenades? Dodging shells from 30 tanks while trying to return fire isn't hard enough yet? TTK of weapons in general is too high to make any of those things viable as it'd be used in combination with other weaponry.
Pretty much none of the above ideas would be acceptable to the playerbase, besides, mustard gas as described there is basically Plasma. I'm even wondering if the Radiator will have a place in PS2. 1. (Large) area of effect (lack of aiming skill == considered spammable and skilless). 2. No countermeasures (and no, gas mask doesn't count). 3. Not being able to do anything about it. Nobody likes to be turned into a sitting duck or fish in a barrel. 4. Abusable in combination with other weapons. 5. Ironically skewedly advantages large groups who can bring a larger quantity of crowd control tools. 6. They may be funny to use, but not to be on the receiving end. 7. Loss of control of your character goes directly against the mentality of the competitive player. Everything about the above is outside of or beyond the control of the receiving end player. Even if these would be "underused" (which they wouldn't), they'd have such a major impact on the game play that players would quit en mass out of frustration and revulsion. You'd drive all competitive gamers out within hours of implementation, you'd get huge shitstorms on the forums and the publicity would be really bad. Tbh these ideas have and should have no chance of making it in. |
