In past SOE games modders have been able to re-arrange / re-format the user interface [ The Windows On Your Screen ], my question is "Will you able to mod PlanetSide UI's?"

Well yes and no, i assume that they will allow the user to move the stuff around as in Morrowind but you can't change anything yourself, no mods of any kind for Planetside.

I am already aware that you can move around the windows with your mouse just like in everquest, though just like in everquest you could mod the windows check out www.eqgui.com for examples of what I mean.

Yeah i just was making sure it was clear, you can move the windows around and all but unless the dev teams includes different skins for them you can't change anything about them.

Hmm... If you are indeed correct I am probably going to get a beat down because I already promised all of my teammates UI's skins for AC, customized and stylelized for all... I better get my track shoes and start running... :)

No customizable or skinable parts of PS at all right now. Hopefully skinnable UI's will come out sometiem after release. But dont hold your breath

I dont know what state EQ is currently, but when I stopped playing in mid 2002 the only "mods" to the gui you could perform were changing the transparency levels, moving the windows, changing your hotkeys etc.

You couldnt "re-skin" as it where, there was no skin...

btw the huds can all be moved, sized, etc. To meet you're specs. Transparancy will probably be in eventually as well. You can also hide certain huds. The mini-map has 2 states, the map view, and a compass view when minimized

there's some extremely wild modifications for the equi nowadays. all it takes is one bored individual with some xml background.

I dont think you can toggle absolutly everything at this time

when I stopped playing in mid 2002 the only "mods" to the gui you could perform were changing the transparency levels, moving the windows, changing your hotkeys etc.

Then you missed the implementation of the new UI by only a month or so. Nowadays, there are dozens of partial and complete UI mods that do dozens of new things...one of my favorites is http://www.horizonsoutpost.com/eq/timer.asp

Stuff like that (the timer especially) I can see as being quite useful in Planetside.

Yea... Well hopefully They will eventually come out with skin-able huds so I can fufil my promises... Anyway I just don't like the clutter and I did like the idea to bring everything to the bottom of the screen.

and hopefully they will add a way in PS to make the menus and such transparent

Customized UI'S would be ok, i doubt someone could find a way to cheat with that type of modding.
