Still awesome roll on the lattice

Of course this may well change because the northern base, which is new, is clearly not complete and links will probably change before they go live. I'm not against this btw, I think stuff like that could provide interest and forces commanders to think strategically, which is good. |

Satellite facilities linking only to their parent base is pretty crazy - it completely invalidates their previous role as footholds for both attackers and defenders to fight over and instead makes them purely defensive cul-de-sacs.
Having one or two satellites (per base) in that defensive-fallback role might be interesting, but making all of them work that way will make bases incredibly hard to assault successfully and lead to some very static, repetitive fights. Hopefully this is just work-in-progress, and the actual lattice will be a bit more sensible. |

(not against the lattice, just against claims without evidence)

Esamir's is clearly a bit broken and they haven't changed up Amerish's hex system yet, but it looks like they've got the paths marked.
I'm a bit worried. A few of my outfit mates are saying once the lattice gets placed into esamir and amerish they'll leave the game. They are sick of the massive pop imbalances on indar and they blame that on the lattice. It's not the lattice's fault that the pops get imbalanced. They got imbalanced pre-lattice system yet people believed that they could use "tactics" with the hex system and could always find a fight. This was obviously not the case but I'm not going to argue with them. This whole lattice system is a bust until the "reinforcements needed", redeploy locations, and spawn deploy are all basically overhauled or straight up removed from this game. Right now there is no point to fighting an outnumbered fight. You can just deploy somewhere else on the continent or leave it all together. This is throwing populations off terribly. I've addressed this in another major thread but I'll just say that until they fix the redeploy system and do something to keep people on their current continent, the population imbalances will continue to ruin what the lattice is trying to achieve. |

I am not sure how I feel about the outposts as satellites approach.
On one hand it will make defense much easier since you can focus on the bases. On the other hand, once a base falls, the outposts are inevitable since they serve no additional defensive role since it doesn't stop further advancement (its a dead end anyway). In other words, why defend them? Just go somewhere where the lattice links do serve a larger defensive role. However, I am fairly confident, this is not how the final release will look.

That little bug on the Live servers just displays the facility connections based on the current hex system. It's not actually an unintended "preview" of the future lattice network on those continents. They obviously haven't finalized that.

To the "spec ops" threatning to quit becouse of the lattice.....dont let the forcefield shock you on the wayout.
Im seriosuly sick and tired of going back and forth between bases becouse 1 guy decided to get some free points. Esamir and Amerish are a nightmare to get anything done without a massive pop imbalance on your side becouse of how open the hex system is. Id also like to know how exactly the lattice is supose to cause a pop imbalance. |

Last night I had the bug and checked the maps switching back and forth. The lattice lanes are completely different for each map. So I guess it is kind of a preview of what is to come. Of course it is all subject to change.. but still cool to see. I will have to re-install my test client tonight and check out the test server changes for myself.
