They should have done this a year ago, or at least 6 months ago.
At this stage, the only people who can legitimately get 25 people to spend 10$ on the game without making dummy accounts are probably the Youtube personalities with large fanbases. For the rest of us, we most likely already recruited everyone within our social circles who will invest in PS2. For me personally, I managed to get about a dozen people to at least try the game within one community I'm part of and all my friends at college play the game already. |

I have been saving SC for the black camo ever since I seen it. Now it looks to be locked to this crap as well as lumifiber MAXes and the badass HEAT weapons.
Any way to farm this without being a known YT name or streamer? Im kinda up shit creak with getting the 10 people needed for the MAX armor and black camo. More so for the HEAT weapons. @Palerion- $10 is the limit to be a qualified recruit. Last edited by Chewy; 2013-07-18 at 05:49 PM. |

@Hamma A perfectly valid point. There were more important things to do back then.
In every F2P game that a referral reward system is tried in, they always wait until at least 6 months after the game's release and the only people who ever get the top-tier rewards without cheating are Youtube celebs or popular livestreamers. As an example, Totalbuscuit was I believe the only person to get the highest tier referral reward for Tribes Ascend. If they do these schemes much closer to the game's launch, you have more new players with free LMGs and boosts, and less dummy accounts. Last edited by Purestorm; 2013-07-18 at 06:03 PM. |

Agree with Purestorm here, doing it after 6 months is not a bad idea in itself. Not to forget that the game has now finally a somewhat decent new player experience.
Looks like decent marketing program. The requirement for new comers to spend money on the game seems a pretty effective way to me to prevent dummy accounts. The rewards are decent too. It might actually pay off now for some people to make a kick-ass PS2 recruiting vid on Youtube. I hope Everquest Next makes it to the program as well when it comes out btw. |

Why would they cheapen the value of these items when they can sucker people into spending $100 to buy black camo? |
