All spawn building that have elevators should be fully 2-way with 1 going up and 1 going down, not both going up and there for forcing you to jump off the side of the building to get back inside This is a very simple design fix and needs to be implemented immediately as it would greatly help defenders.
There is no point in a 1-way design layout other then to hurt defenders and frustrate players, all base layout should be fully 2-way so players can move freely within it and do there best to defend it. Now that the devs listened to the players and made the towers spawn rooms fully 2-way, and the new Interlink Facility tunnels are much better with 2-way access unlike the horrible 1-way design that should be revamped in the Amp Station, its time to fix this design problem with all the spawn buildings so they will be fully 2-way as well Small Spawn building with 2 elevators "both going up" to the roof. Instead of both going up, 1 should go up and 1 should go down. Medium Spawn building with 2 elevators "both going up" to the roof. Instead of both going up, 1 should go up and 1 should go down. Medium Spawn building roof with 2 elevators "both going up" to the roof canopy. Instead of both going up, 1 should go up and 1 should go down. Large Spawn building with 4 elevators "all 4 going up" to the roof. Instead of all 4 going up, 2 should go up and 2 should go down. Large Spawn Building roof with 2 elevators "both going up" to the roof canopy. Instead of both going up, 1 should go up and 1 should go down. New Large Spawn Building in the new interlink facility with 2 elevators "both going up" to the roof. Instead of both going up, 1 should go up and 1 should go down. Absolutely.
Why they thought having a 1-way route out of the spawns was a good idea in the first place is beyond me, and it's doubly bizarre now when towers are 2-way but the rest of the spawns aren't. Hopefully this is something on their to-do list. |

Well, they did make this change to the spawns at towers. They used to both go up only but now you have one go up and one go down. I'd actually rather they were just two way, allowing you to go up or down on the same elevator.

Hey what's up evil, been a long time! Anyways the spawn buildings should act as the safe base of operation for the defenders, built solely for the defenders benefit with full 2-way access just like towers are now. It should not be designed to push them out and not let them back in. The attackers should have to physically push garrisoned defenders out of the spawn builders after every capture. They need to remove pain fields to as they just prematurely end fights for the defenders after the base gets capped. You would have such epic Alamo fights if they got ride of pain fields, I could just see the max crashes lining up to crash the spawn buildings as soon as the cap goes though I will make a large post soon about how base capture mechanics should be and would streamline this entire process.

I think this is less of a problem on spawn rooms and more in tunnels. Once you've rescued the SCU and need to quickly get out to the generators at an Amp station, its easier/quicker to die and use the tunnels again than run. Should just be able to jump back into the tunnels.

This should have been a no brainer. It frustrates me to no end that there is no way down to resupply other than jumping off, taking fall damage, and hoping you don't get killed running back into the lower level.

I think its good as is.
because the roof provide more cover than outside the doors it would just turn into a lame in and out cycle. We dont need more way to encourage people to hug their own spawn room.

Hugging the spawn room is why spawn rooms should be underground and the spawn tubes destroyable. It forces attackers to fight their way down to the spawn room with some epic indoor fights. Also prevents spawn camping. Just my two cents.

Wrong - all it does is make the spawn camp happen at the bottom of a tunnel instead of on the corner of a base. If you simply prefer fighting in tunnels over fighting on the surface then its a great idea. But thats the only thing it accomplishes.

one problem is that the "going down" has to have a barrier that doesn't collide, so that things can drop down it. right now they are all just holes in the floor.
now, things dropping down into the spawn room doesn't sound super great when you think about what kind of objects and projectiles are designed for collisions in this game. i mean they haven't even sorted out what can go through the faction spawnshields and what can't. |
