Laptop shopping... opinions appreciated.

I'm currently looking for a new laptop for a decent price. My main game being Planetside 2, so I would like to get it running properly. I would appreciate some tech savvy peoples opinions on the options I'm currently considering. I'm not too concerned about graphics settings, steady frames at all situations is more important for me (currently dropping as low as 15fps in huge zergs).

And before you say "get a desktop", yes I know it would be much better performance for a lower price, but I really need a laptop because I'm on the move a lot.

I found this Acer for 999 euros:

Acer Aspire V3 17.3" Full HD
Intel Core i7-4702MQ
8 GB DDR3 RAM (max 32)
GT 750M 4 GB DDR3 <----- Will this come back to bite me?
750GB 5400rpm + free slot for SSD

Or this a little older Asus for 999 euros:

Asus ROG 15.6" G55VW
Intel Core i7-3630QM
8GB 1600MHz DDR3
GTX 660M, 2GB GDDR5
750GB 7200rpm

Currently I'm leaning towards the Acer... In the end I could go a little higher, but I'm not that far from leaving my comfort zone when it comes to price. These are the ones I'm looking at now, but I'm open to suggestions (I live in Finland, so I'll try to find a regional equivalent).

Thanks!

It looks like the 750M is somewhat better than the 660M. And everything else about that computer seems better as well. (I assume "Full HD" means a 1920x1080 [1080p] resolution? is the Asus 1080p as well?

You might want to have a look for yourself.

Of course...if you're really moving around a lot I wonder about a 17" laptop.

Thanks for the response!

I've already used to lugging around that 17 incher. It's not like I'm carrying it around the city, it's just that I move around multiple times a year and don't want to pack/setup a desktop every time.

Also found a model with a GTX 760m, that costs around 100 euros more (also had some more RAM and HDD space).
I was hoping that with the PS4 release coming, the multi-core optimizations would help me get better fps with a quad core.
I would like to see around 35fps in large battles...

What site are you using to shop on?

In terms of specs I would get something with a haswell quad core, 8GB of ram, GTX 760M, and possibly a SSD.

This is the one I found yesterday, it costs about 100 euros more than the one in the OP, but I'm thinking it's worth it? GTX 760m, little more RAM and HDD space...

Here's Notebookcheck's take on the above 760m model (review version had an SSD):

And here is the one from the OP:

Malibal released their new Clevo. Seems affordable. Also those GPUs you picked aren't very good. My laptop's 485M is faster than both (I run on mostly high with one medium setting).

In your price range I would not buy a laptop to play Planetside 2. You will just regret it. The only GPUs you should be looking at are the 770M and 780M right now. If you choose anything else do not expect great results with PS2.

I'd be looking for a i7-4800MQ, GTX 770M, 8 GBs (1600 Mhz), 240 GB SSD. Around 1850 USD on Malibal's site for a good gaming laptop.

GPU matters a lot less in PS2 than CPU than it does in most games.

Add you're adding 400euro to the cost, just going by exchange rate (and it's never just by exchange rate).
