Another thread gave me an idea..

If you are reading this you are obviously a reader and likely poster on PlanetSide Universe. So I deliver this question:

When was the last time you played?

About 5 min ago but there's no button for that.

I am, however, coming to the rapid realization (if a year on can be considered 'rapid') that I do not actually enjoy PS2. I'm much more enamored with the possibility and (so far, wasted) potential of PS2. There's just something about this latest patch that just makes me really, really dislike this game and everything about it.

It's been a couple weeks but that's really only due to having CPU issues right now. Figures that I would break down right before the first optimization patch.

Yesterday, would be today, but I haven't gotten home yet.

My outfit is trying to do community Clash, and to get ready for that we are training up squads. Our primary squad (Alpha Squad) is done, and I am leading up the effort to set up the other squads (Bravo, Charlie, Delta, etc.).

I don't play every Day, but I'm neck deep in Planetside every night I get on, through meetings, trainings, reviews, testing, and play sessions.

I got less active over summer, but I still played regularly.

Log-in almost daily to clear certs.
Played maybe an hour in the last month. Played maybe 3 hours in the last 3 months.

My game time was already dipping to near nothing, but the performance update and my below specs graphics card has kinda killed it for me.

I still follow the news and the devs on twitter every day. But the last time I seriously played was probably 9 months ago or so. Been waiting for a game update to convince me to try again, it hasn't happened yet.

I goof around on PTS every now and then but haven't played much live in a while. I don't want to get burnt out again on very monotonous gameplay so I'll wait around for live action until improvements happen in that area.

Last week. I like to play a few hours a month.

I played every day i could, as long as i could, through beta and relase, until this past weekend.

This week i have started to take a break from the game, because ultimately, i was investing too much time in it. Especially considering the fact that now that we are closing in on the one year anniversary, and OMFG 1 is out, i STILL have NEVER been able to play a single session of Planetside 2 without constant periodic crashing. Not once, ever.

The fact that i stayed through crashing, horrible performance, tons ob bugs, a lot of design decisions i did not like, pretty much everyone of my gaming community abbandoning the game a long time ago should tell you about how much i love the good parts of this game.

And i still would want to play it. But all the evidence points to the fact that it will never run with anything near reasonable stability on my old computer here. OMFG did a wonderful job at improving FPS, but if you keep crashing over and over again after one year, the frustration starts to outweight the fun, and i no longer have OMFG as the bit of hope on the horizon that it might actually ever get better.

I will be back once i am able to afford a new PC that can actually run this game properly.
