Dr Lenard Benson, Terran research and statistics division.
Enclosed is my analysis of insurgent activity that lead to the New Conglomerate breaking away from the republic. Follow the events of January 7th, 2642 and the colonization of what we now call Auraxis in 2643 the Terran high command lead by commander Brent Waterson oversaw all military and security actions taking place upon Auraxis. This meant that all other sectors were managed by civilian entities overseen by a mandatory military presence. While this was an inevitable and intelligent decision in order to propagate human survival and expansion on our new world it ultimately lead to the arming of our enemies. We had no way of knowing that the Conglomerate was slowly biding it's time and resources within these sectors. Statistics show from absent work-logs around the time the New Conglomerate began the war that they had had members populating substantial amount of the workforce within the mining, tech development, building and transport sectors. Over the course of decades maybe even centuries the Conglomerate have been stealing mining equipment, experimental technology, construction machinery and various land/air transporters. This was accomplished by claiming loss on small mining equipment, staging accidents to cover up the loss of large scale mining and construction machinery. They then began to use this equipment to establish bases outside of our surveillanced territory. This has become apparent when Terran forces uncovered old bases that were not built by us. This gave them a base of operations to both strategize and research ways for them to attempt to take us down. It goes without saying that their plans have had no effect in those days. But they needed to weaponize these resources so they ingeniously sabotaged working experimental tech halting research then recovering the tech before it could be disposed of. Being labeled as a failed experiment, no one questioned the disappearance of the research. With experimental weapon technology such as the Gauss weapon project in their hands they were able to weaponize their inventory. This lead to the Conglomerate being able to build on this new technology while at the same time stagnating our own weapon development which is part of the reason why we still rely on our time-tested armaments. Additionally, mining and construction equipment was built to be long lasting, sturdy and above all else powerful. The equipment that they've stolen already had the ability to blow holes into the hard stone mountains and survive the aftermath. With the addition of experimental weaponry they were able to increase the range and effectiveness of these weapons on armor and personnel. They also began to develop all new weapons as they began reiterating on their older successes making more effective tools for war. With regards to their transportation vehicles. All transport land or air especially those that contained cargo were built to resist substantial attacks in order to get sensitive inventory to safety, while military vehicles were centered around speed to intercept those attacks. By staging rock-slides with the stolen mining equipment they were able to cover their tracks as they made off with these vehicles. Air-crafts were both harder to get their hands on as well as easier to steal once they had control of them these air-crafts would simply go missing. The became apparent from the inconsistency of accident and missing reports between land and air vehicles. As with the mining equipment the New Conglomerate iterated on these vehicles to mobilize some of their heavier weapons more effectively. They used our air-crafts and added armor plating and heavy weapons in favor over speed to create the Reaver. Some time later they were able to make their own tanks using heavy mining explosives, the heavy armor of their machines and the mobility of our cargo freighters to create the mobile fortress we have come to know as the Vanguard. As you know around that time, fighting broke out in the Kaorr desert close to where they set up their initial base. And the rest as they say, is history. |
