Why do you have to be 18?

How come you have to be 18 to join beta?!? Yea you can change your age and what not, but thats not being very truthfull. Its not like all 18 year-olds are more mature than us "youngins", but why not make the limit like 16? And you can kick someone out of beta can't you? I really wanna sign up for beta, but im only 16 which SUX!!!

Because its a legally binding contract, you cannot sign that on your own if you are under the age of 18

probaby cos its a legal (non-disclosure agreement) contract which you have to be an adult to agree to

Yeah, what they said. Infancy (infancy being under the age of majority, 18) is a defense to contract formation, so rather than get into a legal mess over beta, it just bars minors.

There's at least one state where you're considered a minor until you're 21...forget which though

Well, think about how many people didn't listen to the age requirements. There is a lot, I know a lot of my friends are below 18 and they are in beta. Not much they can do about it they are just protecting themselves from legal situations.

Besides the which, SOE sends out one ninja for every beta tester, just to make sure you didn't lie. If you did lie, then they snap your weak, little neck and use your limp body as a human shield to escape.
