Does anyone see the point of rapidly emerging music artists that have done nothing to get where they are, meaning that they don't play their own instruments or write their own lyrics?....That is why the Smashing Pumpkins are no longer together.

It is a trend that has been growing for some time. Iwould say smashing pumpkins even falls into this trend.
The trend is that music that hits the airwaves and the shelves has nothing to do with being quality music or innovative. It has to do with corperate boardrooms selecting and creating bands to fit in with a particular style that is selling well. Music is now dominated by the results of public surveys, gallup polls, and what is selling best. As far as not knowing their instruments, I would say that most popular singers recieve a large quantity of voice lessons. They have probably trained their voices since they were very young.

Real reason pumpkins broke up: billy's an ass and sharon stoped being their manager...
As for music right now, its all a bunch of crap. It's almost production-lined and reeks of artificiality. Saddly, thats just part of living in the mcdonalds generation I seriously dreed the day when all the musicians i love die off. All the people i consider great (like ozzy) are a few generations ahead of me so im gonna out live every single one of them. I feel like the "day the music dies" will be my last day as well, atleast my last happy one. |

ozzy R the best song writer ever. all of his music is just perfect, everything flows and nothing sounds out of place, ever. He's not my favorite band but i think he's got/had the best musical talant for writing, if he does actually write the notes and such, of anyone out there.
