Connection Wierdness

OK, so every time im in a vehicle, like a galaxy ready to go into battle, everything stops, or if im walking around all of a sudden everything will stop, but i can still move around but cant chat. About 2 mintues later, Disconnected. Happens all the time, cant play for more than 10-15 minutes before it does it. My friend doesnt have this problem at his place, any suggestions on the prob?

Are you connected to a router? I had a similar problem where the game(or my connection) would stop/freeze but I was still able to move. I never noticed until I tried to go through a door or looked at my map and saw no one was moving. To solve this, I unplugged my router and connected my PC directly to my modem.

...Wow. Well, I guess I am screwed up the @$$ then. The people I moved in with bought a router that only has 1 port and there's 3 of us living here, so we had to buy a router. I can't connect directly to the modem...unless those other two get in some kind of freak, fatal accident...<evil cackle>

Well the hub won't make an impact on your connection like a router will. If you know how to program the router right, you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't... maybe we can write a guide and sticky it here?

Yeah, seems most people having ld problems have routers.

There are "supposedly" several fixes at the moment. Each with varying degrees of success (and some with none).

Easiest thing to do is update your router to the latest firmware.

If that still doesn't work some suggested forwarding port 7000 to the IP of the computer you play on. (where they got 7000 from is beyond me)

The last thing to do is put you computer out on in the DMZ. This will leave your computer vulnerable to hacks. You know, people may want all that porn you have on your hd.
