So my B-Day is coming up... Should I get PS?

My Birthday is right around the corner(yay!) and I'm wondering if I should get PlanetSide. The review on IGN didn't say very good things about it, but from what I hear on the forums, it sounds pretty good. I have a whole summer ahead of me so I'm hoping it will have a lot of replay value. I am getting 512 more RAM for my computer for my birthday, but here are my system specs as of now:

P4 1.8 Ghz
256 DDR RAM
GeForce4 Ti4600

Is this game worth the monthly fee? Will it run okay on my system? I will have much more RAM soon. Its the processor I'm kind of worried about. Thanks for the help!

EDIT: How much hard drive space does it take up?

What are your system specs and how high do you run the detail?

Your PC should run fine, But RAM you will need to have more of but seeing your getting more should run fine,

Recomended is what most people run theres on

it is roughly 3Gb in size.

It is a great game so yah buy it. You get a 30 day free trial. So if you dont like it take it back

Its an iffy call man. Personally id say wait a few months. They released PS with almost no content and its been almost a month and they havent added a single thing.

In 3-4 months, if SOE has gotten their shit together and given us some decent content (weapons, bases, versatility, out-of-base battlelines, storyline, etc) then get the game. As it stands now.. it just aint worth 50 bills.

I already blew my money, so im just canceling after the 1 month free and putting it on a shelf. Once (if ever) this game becomes something worth paying for ill subscribe again.

Until then.. SWG is still under NDA and every wendsday they release info on what content they adding. I see more stuff going into that game EACH week then PS had going into retail. Thats the game id be getting if i were you. And if your dying for a good FPS. Get Halo on Xbox and hook up to the net with Gamespy. 4v4 BloodGulch CTF was the bane of my college existance

P4 2,4 GHz, 512 DDR RAM and a GF4 ti4200.

I run it on all high and does it well too..

TekDragon: Why do you try to compare a RPG vs a FPS?

I sincerely hope Hamma bans you when your free month is over.

Ignore tech, he's been talking about canceling his account for about a month now, I personaly think planetside is great. It has it's problems true but their what you'd expect in a fledgling MMORPG (somepeople arnt old enough to rmeember when EQ and UO and some of the others came out it seems) The core mechanics are very solid, albeit a little bare, but if your a squad based combat fanatic like myself theres more then enough to keep you happy for a long time.

If you do buy it, get more RAM. I strongly suggest that you try it before you buy, because you may not like it.

I think PS is a solid buy, just remeber.....its NOT an RPG, it does not and will not play like one. If you like BF1942 or CTF style matches you'll like planetside....If your a deathmatcher, buy something else cause this game isn't your forte.
P.S. ignore Tek, he blows more hot air then a jet engine
