So I'm just hoofing it thru the middle of nowhere on the way to the random base number million thirty-five, when I hear the whine of aircraft and the sound of gunfire overhead. I glance up, just in time to see a big fat Galaxy go streaking past on afterburners, being trailed by a swarm of angry reavers and skeet. They appear from the east, disappear to the west, and I never saw them again... As I was disabling the basement lock at the next site, I wondered where that Galaxy was trying to go, and whatever happened to the crew. It didn't really effect what I was doing, but it just highlights what is the most fun about this game. You figure it out.

No, I got it. A lot of things happen unexpectadly and leave you in suspense of what happened next, generating some sort of awe. I wonder too, just from the sound of it. Maybe one of those pilots post here and can fill us in. But it just looked like a postcard moment.

No, I meant Strygun missed the point, you just responded between when i hit reply and send.
PS. Great postcard, indeed! PPS. When I looked up and saw that, it reminded me of a scripted trigger from a single player FPS, like how parts of buildings collapse as you get close to them in Half Life. But something was different about this one. It was happening for a reason. Somewhere, a Galaxy pilot was having a really bad day and a squadron of fighters were laughing it up.

Yes I agree, this game really makes me feel in true combat, its not all about you and your team, around you other are having their own battles, some dropping dead, some trying desperatly to hot drop before their Galaxy gets destroyed...man I love this game
Well done Devs...now fix the god damn problem with ATI cards :cries: |

And outside of the realms of TKing, ultimate lags, and more n00by TKing, this game also materializes a great sense of camaraderie. And this bond is not just limited to one's own Empire. There have been quite a few instances that (me being a TR loyalist) NC's and Vanus alike have had some very friendly /tell conversations with me during and in between battles. Yes, this game is intense, but it is great to acknowledge that it is simply an addictive game - a highly addictive one at that. |
