TKing for fun and BEP

Here is an example of a TK to prevent someone from getting a cap.

These guys (Kiran and Mav) had just lost the hack because they couldn't get an ANT in quick enough.

I go to hack, and they kill me.

Back and forth and they end up getting run out by a galaxy full of NC.

Then we deconstructed their AMS.

good job NC.

btw, after testing the new grief system I like it.

You don't get much grief for accidents, but when you are killing teammates over and over it really starts to ramp up.

I had about 600 grief after 5-6 TKs on these guys. The last one was +200 or so.

I must say, it was more fun hunting down the TKs who thought they were taking out an easy lone hacker than reporting them would have been

Addendum: This screen shows one of their names "Kiran" but it does not show his partner, "Mav". Both play on the Emerald server as Vanu, so if you see them, pop them once for good measure.

I agree with you totally, man. But, wouldn't roleplayers be less likely to TK since they wouldn't kill someone from their own empire? It looks to me like those who like to TK for the cap points are the ultra-competitive nutso Quake/UT fragfest freaks who live with problematic antisocial problems...

TKing for base caps?! OMG you have no idea how much that f*Cking pisses me off! Anybody who does that needs to grow the f*ck up! It IS NOT your damn base cap if you didn't get there first damnit. God i want to kill those people for real. Hopefully most of those losers will be so addicted to planetside that they'll never get around to reproducing and putting more god damn parasitic ass scum into the gene pool.

Sorry about the swearing but this really fucking pisses me off.

It's probably not the Roleplayers so much as the EQ Players. That game fosters the attitude of controlling spawns and competing with everyone else for encounters and loot. You know that in the end game you have encounters where a hundred or so people will work together for hours only to fight rabidly amongst themselves over the 10 items that drop. And that doesn't even get into the whole realm of intentional training, kill-stealing, and spawn denial.

I don't get this one at all...

Yesterday I was flying Solo (didn't have much time to play) Shot a few bad guys saw 2-3 squads heading towards a base so kinda tagged along.

Waited through the proccess and got 3453 xp... just for being there and firing a few rounds into some Vanu who came by.

So if BEP is someones motive then TK makes no sense. Besides Hacking the base denies it as a spawn point for the enemy and makes it easier to WIN...

Not to mention if you are running around with a few guys... and some solo hacker is taking a base... leave him... see how long he lasts.

I think I saw on the beta forums (or coulda been here) but someone was saying that if you TK someone while they are hacking... instant more grief. I think this is a good idea.

Good point. When you make that EQ comparison, I can relate to it. It's one of the primary reasons I left it two years ago.

People need to stop thinking about themselves so much and think about what is best for their empire's goals. I am convinced that people can work for the common good and still earn BP's/get high kill tallies at the same time.
