as a support trooper you might be able to enjoy it but i doubt you would on the front lines.

Yea it will definitely be laggy for you if you use 56k. You might be able to do some support roles but not stuff that is real close to the action. I'm not really sure though so you might want to think about Cable or DSL unless you are in an area where you can't get it.

It will probably turn out to be an interactive slide show in big battles but for small battles it shouldn't be too bad. When I mean smaller battles, I mean less than they have on most normal FPS servers.

I remember in counter strike one on one would lag with a 56K

But in quake 3 it wasn't to bad with 8 people but im not so sure about 800!!!!!
