I'm gonna get PS soon (hopefully) and i have a 56K modem im gonna get satalite or dsl in a couple months but i was wondering how laggy it would be w/ 56k

also, do mechanized squads work very well, out of all my friends we have a reaver pilot magrider/galaxy pilot a gunner and hacker and a MAX but no infantry support yet

You will lag FAR worse on a satellite connection than 56k.

Satellite internet connection is easily the WORST product offering avaible to people looking for internet connections. After you get done paying for the hardware ($400-800), waiting for an installation appointment (1-3 weeks), and configuring the crappy software, you are still afflicted by underwhelming speeds and disconnects. Most ISPs also cap your bandwidth after you hit so many bytes upstream and downstream. So, if you download too much stuff in a 30 day period, they turn down your speed to a crawl.

Forget satellite and go for cable or DSL. If they arent available, go for Dial-up.

Fast enough....I got ADSL myself..I duno the difference now tho

Anywho...56k's run PS fine BUT what will take you ages is downloading the main patch, took me 13 minutes but my 56k friend said it took him 8 hours
