You guys might have already heard of it, but for those of you that haven't they are making a matrix online. There will agents, faction, and tons of features. It takes place in a huge urban setting, with skyscrapers, subways, and traffic and regular human cpus, and best of all you can bend rules like gravity by jumping rooftops. To learn combat moves you get program software in the game that you load into your brain, so you can learn kung fu, and just about every form of combat just by loading it into yourself. Also there is bullet time and bullet dodging. I think this game is gonna rock!
this is the main site- www.thematrixonline.com this is the trailer- http://matrix.ogaming.com/content/fi...trailer_e3.zip you can sign up for beta on the main site under the newsletter. The game is supposed to come out some time in 2004.

Enter the Matrix sucked, not only cause of the bugs but the designers who also made the movies wachoshki brothers or something like that. As long as you let a talented developer handle it instead of two guys who have no concept of game design.

Actually, theres a really clever way for this game to work very well. It mentioned there will be agents - Rather than having a few select players run around as Agents, I think it would be pretty cool if the Dev's could only play as the Agents - That way, they're always getting an inside look on balance issues and the like.
But maybe im an Optimist.

*Dev Agent jumps out, starts running towards them*
*Player Character busts out with a skill and completely pwnz the agent in a matter of seconds* *Dev makes a note of it, and suggests changing the skill with a high pwnage factor* Remember, Agents are Supposed to be the ipso-facto of the matrix.

devs dont play THAT much , it will be people vs people not always against the devs im talking about gameplay wise what do the devs have to do with anything.(They balanced based on player experiences and the stats of the weapon not combat its self, combat relies on plents of things just haveing a skill doesnt mean anything if the developer would want to balance it ,it would look at numbers) and if a player can kill and agent that easier it shouldnt have gone retail or in beta.

geez you guys are a tough crowd bullet time is implemented by your skill so in the middle of a fight you might be able to go into bullet dodging mode, but you would be very unprotected against melee. Also it said that you can do combos under defense, speed, and power. Dfense combos are mostly the blocking, trapping, disarming, dodging, and counter-attacking moves. Speed is mostly flurries of punches, kicks, or fast disabling moves, these would be used if your openent is very superior to you and you want to quickly weaken/disable him so you can hight-tail it out of there. Power attacks are very powerful moves that can be used to severly weaken an enemy or to finish off a disabled enemy. When power attacks are used the user is very unprotected with little defense while he serves the powerful blow. And thats just the melee fighting, imagine fighting with swords andguns, jumping rooftop to rooftop, in a heated fight scene between you and an agent. How can that not be more awesome than any other mmorpg?
