empire specific AC???

I think it would rock to see a new type of reaver with jackhammers for guns
naw ... ok ... yea that would suck to badly ... but i would still like to see empire specific AC in the future ....

i like flying because i know that no pilot has a mechanical advantage over me - it's all skill and bandwidth up there.

i'd be sad to see it change.

I think the reason they might shy away from empire specific aircraft might be that dreaded word - balance. Think about the threads we get at the moment about the JH. How much more damaging would it be if one empire had a (potentially or actually) advantage over the others in the air? But yes, empire specific AC would rock.

Well how would they do it..........it would probably end up being like AA MAXS.......so TR would have an airborne burster?(kinda stupid what happens if you run into your own flak? hard enough when your stationary let alone flying at breakneck speeds) and the NC what a fire and forget missle (no thanks) and the VS a starfire(yet again no thanks)

I can see the TR AC as some kind of reaver based AC but with Dual 35mm guns. The VS one would be like a skeeter but faster, and with a beamer duct tapped to the nose. The NC would most likely be meant to be a slow powerful AC with Reaver based body but with more powerful rockets and even faster than the reaver.

They were bouncing around empire specific craft around a good while back last fall - although then CC came out and their focus changed. Good question for the next Ask The Devs.

Extrapolating from what appears to be the current design plan:

VS: Faster than the skeeter and with even less armor, it would indeed have a beamer ducttaped to its nose

TR: Big, slow, and armed with 4 immpossible-to-aim 9mm peashooters.

NC: Only slightly larger than a skeeter, five times the armor of a reaver, with the BFG8000 mounted on a auto-aiming turret.

yeah that may be cool, but it wouldnt be cool to have other aircraft having a big advantage, air is about skills not what u use
