I can't decide which of these to go with, they both are about the same price.
I'd appreciate any input you can give...

I can't give any sort of informed opinion, but I know that my friend chose an Alpine system over a similar Infinity system, and he has no regrets. He says that the Alpine sounds great and hasn't give him a single problem, and from what I've seen and heard, I'd agree.

I did the same thing. I got a JVC cd-deck, and 4 pioneer speakers (2 - 6.5" 3ways, and 2 - 4"x10" 2ways). It sounds about 100 times better than the old factory stuff, but I'm missing the low end. I basically have 6 tweeters, and 4 mids. I need some woof. I'm leaning twards the Infinity, but they'd both be perfect for what I'm looking for. The only reason I'm leaning twards the Infinity set is because I think it would look better

I would recommend Digital Amps from Signat with JBL Audio Subs.... But I'll gather some info of the setup I got on my car.

Ok ok, here we go guys.

I personally love infinity. I have a set of 6x9's in my rear deck and was looking at getting a pair of Kappa perfect 12" subs (The deal fell through so I didn't get it.)

When you're shopping for subs/amp combos you need to keep in mind how many subs you'll be running and at what resistance.

Also, if you're going to buy subs, buy them in pairs and get a custom box built to the specifications that your sub was ment to sit in (Right sized box) otherwise you can shread/toast your subs in no-time.

Just looking through crutchfield here and going off my knowledge -

If you want two Infinity Reference 12" subs, you'll want to pair it up with the Infinity Reference 610A amp. : 657 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms (when you split off the sub in parallel, it`ll lower the amp down to 2 ohms and you`ll be running aproximately 330w into each sub. It`s ALWAYS better to have more power running through than less. Makes the amp work less and you get a crisper sound)

The Infinity Reference 12" sub's ratings: recommended power range 50-300 watts RMS
You'll be putting about 330w into each sub, so you're just over it's 'recommended' range... but the peak wattage is 1230w, so you're MORE than safe.

Don't go with the Alpine stuff that you are suggesting. If you are going to get an amp, look for 1 channel, or a monoblock amp. They are built specifically to run subs and nothing else. Also, if you want to pay a little bit of extra money, go up to the Infinity Kappa series subs. Trust me, you wouldn't be disappointed.
