Nah, Kerry needed Edwards. I'll be the first to admit that Kerry isn't great with large groups of people, and Kerry needs the charm that Edwards provides him. In a way, barring the evilness of the latter duo, Kerry/Edwards is like Bush/Cheney, only reversed.

. What I meant was that Kerry provides a bit more brains than Edwards, and much more political savvy, but Edwards is a very charming guy, which will make it easy for him to fulfill the traditional vice presidential role of countering the other party's attacks.
