Jedi are PERMA DEATH chars, and they WILL NOT BE YOUR MAINS

PvP combat is gone

Vehicels are out

Lightsabers had thier sound changed to that of a kid sucking a straw to save on costs..

Jedi would be soooo hard to balance as player-characters, I'm kind of surprised they haven't nixxed all jedi. Losing vehicles is pretty lame, I can imagine walking across the deserts of tatooine..and walking, and walking and walking....are you sure about PVP???? Kind of strange to get rid of it, going to lose a huge number of people...how can you fight a civil war with no PVP?????

Blame the fall of SWG on one forum poster.. Caella. She was the most vocal of the PvE crowd, and Raph Koster made her a star. She and others like her got into the first round of beta and have been dictating the dircetion of the game. I have a persnal animosity towards her.

Oh god. I actually think I know her from Jumpgate. She sort of nerfed PvP there too. I think she only lives to try and kill PvP everywhere. From the sound of it PlanetSide is going to become the only decent MMOG released this year. There's no way SWG will be a threat to any game, especially in the long run.

The lightsaber thing is just cheap, though. Why the fuck did they change it? Certainly they didn't pay any fees or anything because it's a fucking LucasArts game? (In part)

SWG has huge potential, but it definitely won't live up to it at release, in fact, probably not even until several months after release. But they didn't "nix" dark jedi, they just postponed them. They said it would take a few months to become a jedi anyway, so its not that big a deal. I still hate the direction they took that game in though. Star Wars RPG...god, wtf. If they made a game like Planetside set in the Star Wars universe...THEN they'd have something.

My once a year evil rant about something bad:

A Long time ago, I was thinking of getting SWG, i mean back i the day, it did sound very sweet! but that was until the people in charge of SWG went out of their way to make it a great game for all of us:

(no one wants to be anything but pure good, so there is no reason to put in a sweet PvP char like this...)

(yep, since everyone is sooo nice and pretty now that there are no dark jedis, there is no reason to pollute the millions of planets with a vehicle!)

"PVP": There is no more Fighting, No one wants to get hurt, so you are now only going to hunt swamp rats. No jedi- attacks, etc, No SW fan likes those.... Yep, no one wants to fight in SW!

Now on the flip side, the people in charge of PS are great!
They have created a major PvP game, have many ways to play, have many sweet features, etc, and seem to care about what the community thinks. I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone behind the greatness that will be PS!!! I for one have nothing bad to say about this sweet game!! and this game will be sweet!!!

P.S.

just double posted since I want to make it very clear that:

SWG = bad
PS = SWEET!!!

I can think of a complaint...flight model not complex enough (according to available information). But that's pretty minor considering the tons of other content they're trying to pack in the game...I'm worried it could overflow.

Most bugs and exploits, certainly...

I must agree with Arshune, though. The Tribes 2 flight model wasn't exactly the most beautiful thing in the world. It was functional, but the vehicles (especially the flyers) were a pain the ass to drive. That probably can't be worked out in beta. But we'll see.

If you wish to find Caella, go post asking about her on the SWG Offical Forums. I used to post there as Billard. She has a phobia of ANY PvP interaction in a game, and I despise what SWG has become.
