Emulation Discussion

As of late Ive not been playing alot of computer games. Its been almost a week since I invested any hardcore time in EVE.... letting my skills train up... not much being done. Ive been playing alot of navyfield. I had to get my *** BO to level 32 before friday, then I found they were pushing back retail so it didnt matter. Cool. So I stoped playing it hard core. Then I got bored.

My brother came over for the day about 5 days ago... he brought with him Final Fantasy 7. I dug out my old Playstation and poped it in. Oh rapture. I love this game. Espcialy now that I know how to play it right. When it first came out I was rather dumb founded on what I was doing. But low and behold, on the launch of the video... it froze. Aris' frame glued against a back drop of a slums ally way. Great. Then I thought... hmmmm why not get an emulator?

So I grabed a PS Emu and poped in the disc. It took about an hour to work through a few technical details but sure enough it worked like a charm. Since then I havnt touched my Desktop PC as FF7 and the Emu is on my laptop. So please discuss emulation and the endless rapture it can bring you as you play your old school favorite games.

Its pretty cool because most of them have built in save games, built in game sharks/ genies. You can basicly download any cartridge game and play it. Atari, NES, SNES, Sega, 32x. If you have PS cds you can put em in your CD rom drive and play them too. They have PS2 emu that kinda sux. And working on an Xbox one.

PSXeven... it had a bug in it which made me have to use a hex editor to fix it for FF7. Took about an hour and I learned some stuff. Other than that nice and easy.

I know more about emulating for my PSP than my PC, but www.coolrom.com is good, http://www.euroemu.net is better but you download by archive more so than rom.

Btw a cool thing all you PsP owners should look into is PSPSOne, its a PS1 emulator for the PSP, its not completed yet, but its doing well, and it does 10 fps in interpred (or something like that) mode.
