Non-Combat Events?

I wondered if there exist any non-combat events in Planetside, like for instance, Wraith-racing (or ANT-racing

), or are there outfits that organize such events or maybe competitions even?

Some have tried... Global rally races with various vehicle types arranged by individuals. I've seen them announced on the official forums. Usually what happens is that the asshats find the route and ruin it for cheap kills. I remember seeing at one time the dev's looking into events as these but that was quite a while ago.

Do Wraiths driven by Infiltrators appear on friendly radar? If they do, then there could be M.I.R.C. racing!! ( M.I.R.C. = Motorised Invisible Racing Crew

). That way no enemies could get cheap shots because it's difficult to hit what you can't see, even if they know the path, and although I don't know exactly how the Darklight implant works, I don't know if it would really be effective to ambush invisible ATVs racing by at 88 kph... what do you think?

Well whenevr an empire does badly enough, the CR5's usually do some ant racing in the Sanc, around the middle tower

I remember a while back, for some reason, we were all in the Sanc waiting for the first BFR to spawn, we got bored, so we puled a bunch of ANTs and had ANT demo derbys in the centre of the sanctuary. Lemme tell you something, ANT races are the best with the "Elastic Band" Physics, I went flying across the sanctuary, and then drowned in the water.

Heh I remember 2 years ago we had several "moron parades" in the sanct. The parade consisted of 1. Walking around like an idiot 2. Flying a Galaxy to the top of a warp gates and then driving vehicles off of it. 3. My personal favorite...ANT DEMOLITION DERBY...no explaination for that. Good times good times

Yeah somone actually tried to have a funeral service in game... now that is something serious. As completely expected, it was bombed. Sucks it happend but dumb for do'in it in game.

Reminds me of the WoW funeral, great times.

There was a funeral for a WoW player and it was the only time i say Horde and alliance team up. They plowed in and killed all the mourners before they knew what happened to them.

Still, imagine Any destruction derby sounds funny. And there off and Number 4 is straight out, shouldnt have drove in to the water really, Number 2 is off to blinding start all rdy having damaged the other's

Your right. Unless they made a area where weapons were locked.

If I remember correctly long time ago (Pre-Release I think) the Devs said they might try to make a area for Outfit vs Outfit CTF or something. But as we can see nothing came of it.

But I guess that isn't a "non-combat" event though.
